We all went to Dancing with the Stars this year! As it turned out, Kristen & Aaron got tickets the same day I did, so 8 of us were able to go. It was fun to see the live studio and the dancers in person. Unfortunately our seats were not the best, but it was still fun. We got to see Maksim.....and all the other amazing dancers!
I have designed this blog to keep in touch with all of our extended family members and friends. We are always looking to the next adventure, and love to travel and enjoy our time with our family. Check out our UPCOMING EVENTS page!

Our Cabo Trip 2007
We snorkled in the bay. It was my first time snorkeling and we saw a lot of incredible fish. I have a fear of sharks though, and I was really scared.
Too much Testosterone occupying one space. |
Kristen let us each have a turn carrying Carson. |
Come on Carson.....wake up for just one pic. |

Rafting the little San Luis Rey River!
So I read about this little place called the La Jolla Indian Campground that had a lazy river that flowed through the campgrounds. I read all of the reviews and decided it was a great place for our next family adventure. Sometimes they are a hit....and sometimes they're a miss. This was definitely a hit. We entered the campground and I realized right away that this was not a remote campground, apparently those are difficult to come by in Southern California. This place was almost as popular as an amusement park.
We looked long and hard for the perfect spot and we were lucky enough to find a beautiful little site amongst the trees and right next to the water. I had purchased our rafts at my Murrieta Wal-Mart and we couldn't wait to get on that lazy river. I would say that there were parts of that river that I thought someone could lose their life on. We avoided those places, and as it turned out, noone in our little group was seriously injured.
Large groups of friends come here and you will occasionally see people rafting down the little river with their drinks in hand, only to lose it 30 feet later down the river. That was funny!
All in all we really enjoyed our time here. I would suggest going early in the season when it is not too hot and the river is high enough to not be too dangerous. There are portable restrooms at the site which makes it nice. Also, plan on getting here early to get a spot. There were plenty of campers that did not get a creekside spot.
Camping San Onofre 2010 Summer
This was one of my first times camping in southern california and my beloved took me to the San Onofre camping spot. While it has a definite advantage of being close to the ocean, it was not the remote spot that I had in mind. Being from Alaska I am used to camping in the most recluse of places. I love camping. In this particular spot, I was awaken at about 3:00 in the morning with a train rushing through our camp. I thought we were going to die, but fortunately it was just our ear drums that were damaged.
Seeing all of these pic's again makes me want to go camping!
