So I read about this little place called the La Jolla Indian Campground that had a lazy river that flowed through the campgrounds. I read all of the reviews and decided it was a great place for our next family adventure. Sometimes they are a hit....and sometimes they're a miss. This was definitely a hit. We entered the campground and I realized right away that this was not a remote campground, apparently those are difficult to come by in Southern California. This place was almost as popular as an amusement park.
We looked long and hard for the perfect spot and we were lucky enough to find a beautiful little site amongst the trees and right next to the water. I had purchased our rafts at my Murrieta Wal-Mart and we couldn't wait to get on that lazy river. I would say that there were parts of that river that I thought someone could lose their life on. We avoided those places, and as it turned out, noone in our little group was seriously injured.
Large groups of friends come here and you will occasionally see people rafting down the little river with their drinks in hand, only to lose it 30 feet later down the river. That was funny!
All in all we really enjoyed our time here. I would suggest going early in the season when it is not too hot and the river is high enough to not be too dangerous. There are portable restrooms at the site which makes it nice. Also, plan on getting here early to get a spot. There were plenty of campers that did not get a creekside spot.
River rafting such as that of water rafting Cagayan de Oro is one of the best outdoor experience one can ever have. Totally refresing to to body and soul, river rafting is a ride that you should not miss.
