Loews Coronado Bay Surf Dog Competition

I had always wanted to see the "Surf Dog Competition" down in San Diego, and I actually managed to make it this year.  For some reason, every other year there was always another conflicting event and I had to pass.

 I love dogs and there were plenty of them at this event.  There were all breeds you could imagine, and every one was decked out in his best outfit.  The event was held in heats of four, and they started with the smaller dogs first.  There was even a dog that surfed backwards.  Turns out...he was my favorite.  There were some real pro surfers in the group, and then there were the poor amateurs that looked like they never surfed before.  When it came to the larger dogs....they just didn't have the balance and agility of the smaller ones.

Kevin and I had a wonderful day at the beach, and are hoping to take more of our kids and grandkids next year.  I definitely think Christian and Carson and Payden, and Hazel would have loved it.  We ended our day exploring Little Italy and dining at Bencotto....but that's another story.
